Restrictions over publishing:
You cannot create new financial periods in entities that have been published as a financial period template, or publish an entity when it has more than one reporting period.

- Reports list: Reports will appear greyed out unless previously run.
- Platform v6.10

- Platform v6.10 release provides the following:
- Ability to restrict user groups from deleting reports: Within the Manage User Security dialog we have added the ability to restrict which user types can delete reports from the report list. By default this will be set so that only users in the Administrator user group will be able to delete the reports. This can be overridden by going into Tools | Manage User Security and changing the user permissions for Reports - Delete Elements Within a Report. When a user with insufficient access rights is signed into the application, the Delete button will be disabled when they select a report from the report list. As a part of this change, we’ve also disabled the Delete right-click menu option when selecting the root element in the Report Structure of any open report.
- Platform v6.9

- Platform v6.9 release provides the following:
- Check Out Entities Into Separate Files: When checking out more than one entity, you now have the option to save each entity as a separate .oap file. You will be required to select a folder location where you would like each file to be created.
- Check In Multiple Files: When checking in entities you can now select more than one .oap file by highlighting multiple files via the Browse dialog. If any of the selected files contain entities that already exist in the database (based on entity code match) they will automatically override the matching entity currently in the database.
- Database Clean-Up: The application no longer deletes redundant data following a template update, a check-in or deleting a period/entity. This enables these processes to complete faster than in previous versions of the application. Redundant data can now be cleansed by an administrator via a new clean-up tool which is accessed by clicking the Database Cleanup option from the Tools menu. If any unnecessary data is identified this tool will advise you how many entities, periods and templates will be deleted. It is recommended that this process is best carried out when there are no other users logged onto the database.
- Database Architecture: The database architecture has been modified to increase the performance of the application for larger databases.
- Platform v6.8

- Platform v6.8 release provides the following:
- Licensing: This release introduces licensing. Once the platform is installed, a licence file needs to be imported using the Licence Manager tool before the application can be used. The Licence Manager tool, which also provides details of your current licences, is found by selecting Tools | Licences.
- Spell Checker:Spell checking functionality has been added to reports. Report content is checked against a dictionary file selected via the Spelling Dictionary dialog, alternative dictionary files with a .dic extension can be added to the Dictionaries folder located on the application installation path if required. Any content misspelled is underlined in red
in the report and detailed in the Warnings Tree pane under a new Spelling Warnings section. Use the Ignored Words dialog to add items that fail the spell check, but are still correct e.g. company names e.t.c. The Ignored Words dialog has been pre-populated with a table of known accountancy acronyms and reporting terms not included in the default dictionary. Both dialogs are accessed from the Financial Period | Spelling menu. The Ignored Words table can also be updated automatically by right-clicking on the item identified in the Spelling Warnings section and clicking
Ignore. The spell checking functionality can be switched off if not required by un-ticking the Enable Spell Checking control on the User tab. - Number and Date Format: A new Number and Date Format dialog has been added enabling the configuration of values and currency within the application, rather than via your computer settings. The dialog is accessed by clicking the Number and Date Format link on the Disclosure tab. Configuration is applied to disclosures and reports for the selected entity and the dialog should only be used if you require different settings to your computer default.
- Account Assignment: When assigning accounts a dash is now shown if values exist but the total is zero. If a change is made to assignments and you then have to change the Category Structure, the assignment changes are saved automatically.
- Entity Structure: The entity name, as shown in the Structure Tree on the Entity Structure dialog, now includes the entity code and the Report as setting.
- For example, UK GAAP Group (UKGG1.1/Group).
- Security: The Manage User Security dialog now includes Reports - Delete Elements Within a Report and Delete Financial Period settings. By default these are set to Administrator only.
- Check In/Out Data Wizard: Previously, password protected entities could be checked in/out without entering the password. Now, you must enter the password via the Enter Entity Password dialog. Also, the Check Out Data Wizard now hides any locked entities from the list of entities to check out.
- Managing Periods: Previously, financial periods had to be deleted starting with the most recent first. Now, old financial periods can be deleted in any order, via the Manage Financial Periods dialog, without deleting the current period first.
- Transaction Import: The Import Wizard now enables you to map imported Account codes to existing Account codes, enabling you to import data from other accounting applications while retaining a single set of nominal accounts.
- The Import Wizard also now automatically maps the entities being imported to your existing structure if the entity codes in the imported data match those in the current period.
- Journals: The Journal dialog now includes two tabs - Entries containing the existing grid for journal entries and History comprising a list of all changes starting when the journal was created. In addition, the Journals tab now includes the following information:
- Created - date when the journal was created
- Edited - date when the journal was last edited
- Edited by - user who last edited the journal.
- A new option in the context menu on the Journals tab enables you to Paste Without Values to create a new period pre-populated with accounts but zero values.
- Account Assignments: Previously, Debits and Credits were assigned manually via the Account Assignment dialog. This release enables you to automatically assign Debits and Credits, if they are included in the source xls/xlsx/csv file, when importing assignments.
- Reporting Period Sets: This release includes a simplified reporting period where the start and finish of the reporting period aligns with the start and finish of the financial period meaning durations and period offsets can no longer be specified.
- Reports: Reports now include XBRL validation enabling you to view and resolve XBRL tagging issues, prior to submitting your report to HMRC. Validation can be switched off if not required during the editing/update stage by un-ticking the Enable report XBRL warnings control on the User tab.
- Defining Warnings in Reports: This release enables you to define additional XBRL warnings via the Element Properties dialog.
- Equality Check Warnings: This release enables you to check values in the new-style smart tables against each other.
- Note References: Previously, you specified a note heading using the id of an existing note element. Now you can select the required element via a tree structure in the Select Report Element dialog.
- Copy Smart Table Section/Column: A Copy option is now available when right-clicking from an existing smart table section/column.
- Exporting Reports: The
Export reports to XML formats report toolbar option is now enabled only when viewing the report in
Preview mode. - Entities Displayed in Reports: Reports containing data from different entities now display the entities in the same order as the entity structure.
- Report Element IDs: This release no longer displays the Report Element ID when viewing element properties but you can now reference the Element Name instead of the Element ID.
- Report Warnings Refresh: A new check box on the Options dialog enables you to Automatically refresh report warnings.
- Entity Structure Reporting Option: Previously, when creating new entities the default sub-entity was not automatically assigned a reporting option meaning that journal entries could not be posted straight away. Now, the default sub-entity is automatically assigned to the first reporting option, as shown in the Report as drop-down menu on the Entity Structure dialog, enabling journal entries to be posted straight away.
- Installer: Report templates are now also installed to the Templates folder so you can now choose between using/configuring an existing report, or building your own. The reports now include various working papers and all report and report element templates have been updated to use the new advanced smart tables.
